# Koko > Koko is a gentle, private iPhone app that helps people break unhealthy habits and addictions one day at a time. A friendly koala companion supports daily pledges, honest check-ins, a private journal and a supportive chat. Koko is in early access; people can join the waiting list on the website. Koko is a support tool. It is not medical care, therapy or a crisis service, and it does not replace professional help. People in danger or crisis should contact their local emergency services. ## What the app does - Live streak timer (days, hours, minutes, seconds) for each habit, worded to fit the habit ("days sober", "days clean", "days bet-free", "days smoke-free", "days spend-free", "days in control", "days screen-free") - Daily pledge, with a personal "reason" the user writes themselves - Daily check-in: mood, craving strength (1-5) and triggers (stress, boredom, loneliness, social pressure, routine, curiosity, tiredness) - Progress view: mood and craving trends and most common triggers - Private journal for each habit - Chat with Koko: a warm, non-judgemental AI companion; includes crisis-language detection that points to emergency resources - Koko Insights: short daily summaries and weekly look-backs - Gentle reminders to check in and make the daily pledge - Habits supported: alcohol, nicotine and vaping, drugs, gambling, porn, food, shopping, social media (one or several at once) ## Privacy, in plain words - Check-ins, journal entries, pledges and streaks are stored on the user's device. - Chat messages are sent to a secure AI service to generate Koko's replies. They are not sold or used for advertising. - The website uses Google Analytics to count visits. Its sign-up form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. ## Availability - iPhone first. Currently invite-only early access via a waiting list. ## Links - [Home page](https://kokohelp.com/): overview, features, FAQ and the early-access sign-up form
